Being a hairstylist for me isn’t just a job, it’s me living my passion daily.

I love every movement, process, and the results from doing hair along with talking to people and learning about their lives. Every day and every head of hair is different! It’s truly a pleasure to be able to give people something that is part of their identity or accessory, and they can wear feeling beautiful and confident at all times.

I have two cosmetology licenses. One for Washington State, where I started my career in Seattle, first training and later as a stylist in a remarkably creative salon, VAIN, downtown. After moving to Japan, I got my second cosmetology license for Japan, proceeded with my career, once again improving at GOLD SALON, then working as a stylist. I’ve now been in the industry for 13 years.

I am a native English and Japanese speaker and from a young age, I’ve moved back and forth between the United States and Japan. I always felt like I had two different lives and worlds. Because of this, it’s easy for me to spend time or to work with different personalities.

Living here in Japan for the past few years, working with western clients helped me merge my different worlds closer together. I believe I have a unique perspective and approach to life, and it has been so wonderful how we’re able to share our experiences and celebrate our differences.

As a hairstylist, I approach each client with compassion, consideration, and an open mind. I sit down with them during the consultation to understand their vision and so we can connect right away. It’s important for me to carefully listen to the clients’ wants and needs, and what they don’t want is just as important, to provide them a look that will carry out with their lifestyle.

From a young age, I’ve always loved lighter hair colors, especially different tones of blonde hair. I enjoy doing any kind of lightening process and dimensional color that compliments the natural hair color. I accept color corrections as a great challenge too! I always consider the hair texture and overall balance, and create haircuts that are easy to style, and grows out pleasantly. My goal is to give my clients the combination of both a well-executed cut and the right color of choice that they can wear perfectly until the next visit.

Aside from doing hair, I like to discover new music, do power/yin yoga, read a book, and try to explore the city. I also have fun doing digital drawing and photo composition, or mindlessly watch something on Netflix or YouTube. I'm a homebody but getting in touch with nature helps to restore my mind, body, and soul.
